Zenith Orbit
The intelligence that plans every degree
Zenith Orbit is the planning brain we’re building into every Nordic Zenith device. It doesn’t just react to a cold room — it anticipates it, and heats or cools at the smartest possible moment.
*Illustrative plan — shows how Orbit is designed to plan, not a measured result.
Three inputs, one plan
What Orbit knows
Weather forecast
Outside temperature, humidity, solar irradiance, cloud cover, wind speed and direction — hours ahead, not just right now.
Electricity prices
Live spot prices, so heating and cooling can shift toward lower-cost hours whenever your comfort target allows.
Learned thermal model
How much heat your walls, floors and furniture hold, how fast the room reacts, and how effective each heat source really is.
How it works
Observe · Learn · Predict · Plan
Observe
The thermostat measures air temperature and humidity, and infers the warmth stored in walls, floors and furniture.
Learn
Over the first weeks it builds an adaptive model of how your specific room responds to weather and each heat source.
Predict
It forecasts the next 24 hours of heating and cooling demand from the weather and that model.
Plan
It picks the most effective source at the most cost-effective time, using stored heat as a buffer to skip peak prices.
The changeover-season problem
Free heat from the sun, not the grid
A heat pump keeps heating through the cold early morning — then the sun rises, adds free warmth, and the room overshoots. You paid for heat you didn’t need. Orbit is designed to predict the sunny afternoon and hold back, using your home’s thermal mass instead.
Without Orbit
Heats at 6am · overshoots at noon · reheats at peak price
With Orbit
Pre-heats on cheaper night power · coasts through the sunny afternoon

The specialist mode
When the house is empty, Orbit becomes Guardian
Standard Orbit optimises the next 24 hours around a comfort target. For an empty summer house that’s the wrong job. Guardian is the same brain re-tuned for eco-presets between 5 and 15 °C, where the goal is protecting an empty building for weeks — not making an evening pleasant.
EU-hosted by design
The weather and price planning is designed to run on EU-hosted cloud infrastructure, with privacy treated as a requirement, not a feature.
Graceful local fallback
If the internet or cloud data drops, the thermostat is designed to keep running on what it has learned — quietly, in local mode. This covers connectivity, not a power cut.
Pilot testing
Want to see Orbit in your own home?
Nordic Zenith is in pilot testing. A launch notification list is on its way — until then, write to us if you’d like to hear more, test in your own home, or work with us.
